Type 201 is an austenitic chromiumnickel- manganese stainless steel that was developed originally to conserve nickel.

SS Sheets 201 compared with sus304 stainless steel,corrosion-resistant performance greatly reduces . if it stays for a long time in the rain, rust will occur.The disadvantage of SS Sheets 201 is that unbalance of 18% chromium and low nickel content forms ferrite. So the chromium content of SS Sheets 201 decreases to 15% to 16%, in some cases, droppes to 13% to 14% ,it can instead sus304 stainless steel only in some cases.

Type 201 stainless steel is formable to most shapes but will work-harden disallowing the most severe forming operations unless annealed prior to forming.
